Supreme Anarchy

So, the SCOTUS ruled today that the rape of an innocent child is NOT cruel and unusual, but the to lay the convicted child rapist on a table and inject a cocktail that would allow him to go to sleep and die peacefully, IS cruel and unusual punishment.

                Huh?

Cruel and unusual punishment is prohibited by our constitutional Bill of Rights in the 8th Amendment. If it is truly cruel and unusual, then it is a punishment that should never in any case be inflicted upon the imprisoned.

This ruling today reveals that 5 of the 9 Supreme Court justices are opposed to the death penalty altogether. It used the guise of this case, the appeal of a convicted child rapist to not die, to chip away at the authority of the states to enforce their laws.

The ONLY beneficiaries of this ruling are CHILD RAPISTS and their attorneys. How is the public of the United States benefited by this ruling? How is “to form a more perfect union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity,” furthered or benefited by this ridiculous decision?

We have been living in a rising tide of deviants who are victimizing and raping and ultimately, murdering our children. Parents have become fanatics about warning their kids about the dangers posed by strangers, and taking every precaution to ensure their children are safe from harm.

We have even had to take precautions to ensure that the people we know aren’t in a position to harm our children. Eternal vigilance is the price every parent must pay to safeguard their most precious gift from God, their children.

This is an over-reach by the liberals on the Supreme Court to interfere with the ability of the states to establish and preserve law and order in their jurisdictions. The courts are not the final arbiter of what will or will not come to pass in our nation. Or even what will happen to our war-time foreign enemies. (I'm looking at you, Boumediene!!)

We have three EQUAL branches of government to prevent any one from becoming too powerful. The judiciary long ago bypassed their area of jurisdiction by legislating from the bench. It then fell to the legislature and the executive branch to reign in its activism. Yet, for over 40 years they have done nothing.

So we have come to this strange culture of waiting breathlessly for the Nine to shower us with their wisdom, and tell us how to live. The prescient fact bypassed by our culture, is that any human or any committee of humans can make mistakes. This court has made several, and they need to be put back into proper perspective.

Every legislative house in every state needs to pass a law this coming year that child rapists deserve the death penalty. As justice Kennedy wrote for the majority that there was a ‘national consensus’ that the death penalty was not an appropriate punishment for someone who violently rips the innocence from a child and physically and emotionally wounds them for life.

We need to develop a ‘national consensus’ that we DO want child rapists to suffer the highest penalty. So no other child will ever be harmed, so other perverts and deviants will live in fear, and so we don’t pay for the lifetime care and feeding of this type of reprobate.

I wonder if all the death row inmates, duly convicted by a jury of their peers, and given a chance of the right to appeal, were put to death by the end of the year, what our court costs and prison costs would be. I wonder if we finished this business no later than one month after their appeal case is settled, how much money we would save and what kind of caseload would be alleviated.

Just a thought, folks, how about we take control of our country again? How about our children have the comfort of knowing that anyone with the intent to brutally rape them knows they will be put to death for that crime? How about parents of these children who have been broken by madmen get to see and know the monster that hurt their baby will die for being a criminal?

Then let the healing begin…
